Although we are witnessing a financial crisis which manifests itself in the entire world, the investors are looking for interesting and safe business opportunities. Experts say that the fuss from the real estate field will be replaced by new business channels, as the renewable energies. In the last years the number of the European companies from the energy sector has grown fast, and the investments in the renewable energy set records every year. There are more and more entrepreneurs that want to build hydropower stations, wind turbines, fields of solar panels or biomass factories. This tendency and the country’s energy potential offered by each area, attract the attention upon Romania.

 

Romania's commitment to the European Union is to reach the target of 33% consume of renewable energy by 2010.

•          33% of total electric power and 11% of total energy consumption by 2010

•          38% of total electric power and 24% of total energy consumption by 2020

•         In the first semester of 2009 29,8% from the total energy is provided from hydropower
