4th National Conference: Small Hydropower in Romania - Present and Future

Romania occupies the 38 rank in the list of the largest energy consumers in the world and first place in the south-eastern Europe. Theoretical hzdropower potential it is estimated at 36.000 GWh/year. On average, about 30% of electric energy consumption it is covered by this renewable energy source. Small hydropower are not so expanded in Romania, but it is hoped a change in the next future, in the conditions of implementing the European Directive regarding the cover of the electric energy necessary from renewable energy sources. It is estimated that there are about 5000 possible locations for installing small hydropower.
Informing the investors about the current status, regulations and funding possibilities for small hzdropower from south-eastern Europe region has become a necessity.
Therefore, the 4th National Conference: Small Hydropower in Romania - Present and Future keeps up to the tradition of the last two years and will gather under one roof experts and decision makers from Romania and not only.
